This past Saturday in Liverpool ther was a benefit show for the Don't Buy The Sun Campaign that continues to seek justice for the Hillsborough 96. The Hillsborough disaster occurred April 15, 1989 and wa sthe result of a human crush that killed 96 and injured over 700 other Liverpool Supporters during an FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest. The Sun a British Tabloid, ran a story the told of LFC fans attacking first responders, defiling bodies and more, none of which was true.
Legendary guitarist Mick Jones played the benefit and played a set of Clash songs which is rare to see. The Clash were well known for being politically outspoken and supporting a cause like this Jones carries on the legend of their music for good and not for profit.
