Things To Come, Writers Wanted.

As we come up on our official release of TDIF Print, I realize that out online content has been severely lacking. The amount of work that we've put in to get this first issue done has been intense.  Going forward from here for our next issues the work should hopefully be a little less, as the very basics are now in place for future issues and we do not have to start from scratch.

The time has come to move forward with the next phases of reinventing TDIF. Over the next few months you will start seeing some more things going on.

  • A complete overhaul of the website. The blogger base which we have been using was great earlier on, but now with our print format, needing to be able to sell issues and have hopefully more varied online content we need to move on to a better and more customizable platform.
  • More social media presence. We have mostly been using just Facebook and Twitter. We want to expand our uses of our existing accounts, increase the use of our Tumblr and we'll be getting an Instagram account up and running.
  • Work on our next issue. We are tentatively looking at an early spring release, but we would not rule out a winter issue.
  • Increased and varied content. This is where things hopefully get interesting. As we have mentioned and as you will see in TDIF Print, we're not just focusing on the Revs and soccer, music, culture and lifestyle will have an increased presence going forward.
So with all of this going on we are looking for writers from outside New England to contribute to both online and print. We have some criteria... opinionated, knowledge of soccer and music subcultures (i.e. casual, ultra, skinhead, mod, punk, hardcore, etc.). We also want to see a writing sample, so write us scene report with the following:

  • Tell us about your local team and it's supporters
  • Tell us about a good local band
  • tell us about a good local bar/club or local shop
Submit to brian@thedrugisfootball.com and if we like it we'll be in touch!
