Revolution Sign Saer Sene From Bayern Munich II

The New England Revolution have announced the signing of 25 year old French striker Saer Sene from the Bayern Munich reserves.  Sene is a product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth system.  Sene has been playing in the German lower division for sides such as SC Schorndorf and SG Sonnenhof Großaspach since 2007.  He's been with Bayern Munich II since 2009 where he's made 55 appearances and score 19 goals as well as having been called up for early round UEFA Champions League matches.

'Sup Guy?

Well the Revs threw us for a loop with this one, didn't see it coming at all.  Today the New England Revolution announced the sigining of RW Ryan Guy, 25, from St. Patrick's Athletic of the League of Ireland Premier Division.  Guy does have an MLS past having been drafted by FC Dallas in 2007 but opting to seek employment in Europe instead of signing a developmental contract.

Guy trialed with Crystal Palace and Hannover 96 before finally ending up at St. Patricks's.  In 2008 Guy scored the game winning goal in a first round UEFA Cup marking St. Patrick's first European away match victory.

Guy left St. Pat's in January to return to the States for what according to the St. Pat's website were 'personal reasons'. Guy was very popular to the fans at St. Pat's and his departure was seen as a blow to the team.  We don't know much else about Ryan Guy and honestly don't know what to think about the signing, it will hopefully give us some improvement on the right and be an improvement over Boggs.  Guy will join the team next week.

Revolution Sign Didier Domi

Alright the Revs actually signed someone before training camp started!! Shit before the Draft! The first of many seriously needed steps for the Revolution. We are cautiously optimistic over the signing of 32 year old, French LB, Didier Domi.

Domi who was out of contract at Olympiacos in Greece has an impressive resume including Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle, Leeds United and Espanyol.  He comes the Revs with UEFA Champions League and Europa Cup experience as well.

Domi's experience should help to shore up the Revs backline and fill one of the many holes in the Revolution roster.  However the Revolution still need to make some major moves for attacking players.  His age is of some worry as we have had bad experience (Jankauskus) with aging European players.  We hope that he'll be able to keep up during the summer heat and playing on Field Turf.  Domi only played 60 games in four years with Olympiacos so one must worry about why that is, whether it be health, form or if he was just out of favor.

Domi has a transfer value of around $975k but at this time we do not have any salary information.  Domi has not been signed as a DP, if we had to guess about salary we would estimate in the $200k range.  We will look for more details and keep you updated as we find out more
