Shalrie Done in New England?

Well in Revs-land nothing good can last for ever... Shortly after the announcement we saw this tweet from Shalrie Joseph regarding the DP signing of Milton Caraglio:

Damn damn damn.... sigh... moving on or retiring we're not sure but this is a blow to the team indeed.

  1. He may have had his off-pitch shenanigans, but on the pitch he does his work. What a shame.

  2. for sure that Twitter post is from the real Shalrie ??

Another Twitter post from him a few minutes earlier did not appear to really be from him...and the wording of this one sounds not quite like him?

  3. Yes that is his actual twitter account. It is the last year of his contract as well so it's not a completely unreasonable statement.

  4. At the beginning of the season, Shalrie was talking about how this year is very important to him because it's his contract year. Seemed like he was aiming to be re-signed and finish out his career here.

So what happened? Did he decide to just hang them up after this year? Is he sick of the mess here and is looking to catch on to winner elsewhere and win something before he does hang them up? Or are the Revs being their typical cheap selves and tossing him aside come renewal time just like they did with Noonan/Dorman/Ralston/Larentowicz?

Can't wait to see Pat Phelan as our new centre-mid stud!!....

  5. I don't blame Sharlie, seeing he has one contract left in him and in his thirties (ancient by soccer standards except goalie or defense). If I was Sharlie I would want to spend the last years in a team that has an ownership group that invests in the team. As the MLS continues to grow, the Revs keep heading in the opposite direction alienating their die hard fans and coddling a base that has little to no interest in the sport. I'm lost for words as to what can fix this but it runs deeper than a DP. Real Salt Lake put together a historic two seasons and going deep into the CONCACAF Champions League pulling a nation of soccer fans together for a chance to face a Barcelona or Santos. Not in a friendly but in a meaningful tournament all without a DP. There is no magic wand that fixes this, but it starts with the owners. With the only bright star in this organization being Fagundez, I have a feeling they"ll screw this up as well.
