Hey Season Ticket Holders, Give Us More Money To See Your Team Play!

Where's My Money Man?
We reported previously that the Revolution would be taking on Manchester United.  Today The Revs made the official announcement that the game would be taking place on Wednesday, July 13th and that season ticket holders would get an exclusive 3 week window in which they could purchase tickets...

We have a special event ticket in our package...

So you are telling us that we need to shell out more money to see a team that we have paid to have the privlage of season tickets for...

Seattle will be playing Manchester United and season ticket holders have that game included in their package.

Chicago will be playing Manchester United and season ticket holders have that game included in their package.

Manchester United will be playing Barcelona (yes that Barcelona) in DC and DC United season ticket holders have that game included in their package.

Sporting KC will be playing Newcastle United and season ticket holders have that game included in their package.

But hey Revs season ticket holders thanks for all your support!! You can buy a ticket for the game exclusively for three weeks and maybe you'll get a discount! Tickets start at $50!!!!!

Oh and that $50 ticket... well since they are expecting 50,000 for this game we're guessing that those will be for upper level tickets... So we expect them to be more for you know the fort... where the supporters and many season ticket holders are... in the lower level...  Oh ya and parking  is probably going to cost you another $40.  Please tell me the value of season tickets again?  I have always been able to get a cheap/free ticket if I needed an extra day of game for less than face value, and well we never sell out.  One of the perks of the special event is so that when the team does do something "great" for the "fans" that the STH's are rewarded by having their ticket already.

Imagine how many more season ticket packages the Revs would have been able to sell in the next week or so if this game was included...

This severely lacks class and is an insult to all Revolution season ticket holders.  Way to go Revs, just when we were starting to think you were finally getting it...

  1. This is complete garbage. I just wrote my STH rep to register a complaint about this. I hope all other STH's do as well.

They might make up for it if USA v Spain is the special event, but I have a feeling that that's beyond wishful thinking.

  2. I'm a Revs Season Ticket Holder, not a USMNT season ticket holder. USMNT will not be an appropriate replacement. I will gladly pay for the US vs. Spain game

  3. I totally agree, Brian, I'm just thinking of that in the sense that we have one special event ticket. USA v Spain is a more "premium" event, in terms of star power on the field, so if they give us that, it would make sense to not give us Revs v Man U. But I'd rather buy tickets to USA v Spain than Revs v Man U, absolutely agreed.

  5. If this was in Toronto they'd be screwing us over the same way. When Real Madrid was announced in 2009 people were thinking that would be our bonus game as part of the season tickets. Instead we got River Plate and had to pay ridiculous amounts for RM (or had the option to anyway - I declined).

  6. So if the ManU game isn't the special event and odds are the US game will not be although I agree with Brian that should not be the special event what will the special event be.

  7. I've said it once and I'll say it again, these are fundraisers for the Revs' bottom line. Get a nice fat payday here, get a halfway decent crowd at the Galaxy game, and don't worry too much about stand-alone Revs attendance. This has been SOP for this team for years now.

  8. Yet ANOTHER reason to not buy seasons. But hey at least you get first dibs on country fest tix and/or to check out a Pats practice. D00sh move Revs.

  9. I wanted to come in here and say that you guys are bashing the team, etc, but I have to agree. The man u game should be included in the package. I can't even think what the special event ticket will be, since there is no more superliga. The revs fucked up on this one.

  10. My rep wrote back this morning, explaining that the teams that are including their big club friendlies have significantly higher season ticket prices etc. etc. and that STH will get discount rates on the Man U tickets and free parking, so well, there you go. Oh well.

USA v Spain is hosted by Gillette, not Revs, apparently Revs are trying to get advanced purchase rights. If we can get advance purchase opportunities to Travis Tritt or whatever, a soccer game should be a no brainer.

  11. Oh also, my rep said they are holding the special event for an MLS-related match, so... Open Cup? thrilling friendly against future expansion side Montreal Impact?

  12. So I did a little research to fill in the missing facts, Love the the Fox news style rant, long on emotion short on facts.
    cheapest season ticket
    Seattle $436
    DC United $342
    Sporting $280
    Chicago 199 upper deck
    Revs $234
Lets see $234+$40 +274 cheaper than every one except the nose bleed seats in Chicago
Can't see how I'm being screwed on this one

  13. And if you had read our other post you would see that we did the same thing, further in chicago supporters seats behind the goal are 200 bucks. Finally we are mainly an opinion and commentary site so nice try on the fox news thing but we don't hide our bias... move along good sir or madam...
